Tartan Day Parade

So last week was Tartan week in New York, and on Saturday 6th April was the Tartan Day Parade. Unfortunately I don't own a kilt, so i wore my Scotland top, while Willie wore his kilt. The weather was amazing and one of the first hot days we had experienced. We watched the parade from behind the barrier for half an hour or so, watching small groups from towns across Scotland walk down 6th Avenue waving at the crowds... Then Willie suggested we should join the parade. We did. Was a very surreal experience walking down the street, nestled between huge towering skyscrapers, thousands of people waving Scotland flags and cheering. We loved it and walked until the parade stopped. Met some very interesting people, including an older guy from Bridge of Weir, who'd lived in New York for 50years. He was offering us sips of his whisky from his hip flask as we waved back to the people on the streets... He was mental. Here are a few shots from the day out;
